Personal Winter

Being described as moody, emotional, intense, and fiery

my whole life made me feel

like there was something wrong with me.

Being described as moody, emotional, intense (my fave), and fiery my whole life made me feel like there was something wrong with me. I wanted to hide all of these things and be stoic, emotionless, not give a shit about anything, calm, peaceful, and zen. Well guess what? That shit didn't happen and I am owning who I am, except I am doing it with more understanding.

Believe me it's not easy being spirited and mouthy, because when you are not those things you are quiet, introspective, or removed from situations, people, or places. Then you are questioned with, "What's wrong?" My thought is, "Bitch, nothing! Isn't this what you have always wanted from me . . . to be serene, unremarkable, and hidden?"

It really doesn't matter, because the only person you need to make happy, or answer to, is yourself. I say all of this because winter is approaching and as we wrap up Autumn in the Northeast, the trees become barren, empty, and fruitless, and we are reminded of the death and darkness that is winter. I used to hate winter, but now I appreciate and honor it soooo very much.

Winter is not just a season it is a personal experience of gaining wisdom by going inward and sitting in the dark quiet of your mind and soul, to gather information, and to rest and nourish your body. I appreciate sleeping in later, cooking hearty meals, sitting under a cozy blanket on the couch, reading more books, and journaling about all of my dreams and aspirations.

Winter is not just a season

it is a personal experience of gaining wisdom.

Winter brings a very profound space to me and I would love for you to think about all that winter brings in to your life. Below I have included some spiritual information about winter and some tips for how to make your Personal Winter meaningful and productive without feeling like you're doing anything taxing, yet being in your power.
